About the festival

 

The International Organ Festival Haarlem is organised by the foundation 'Stichting Internationaal Orgelconcours'.

The board:
Hans Koenders (chairman), Peter van Voorst (treasurer), Stephen Taylor (secretary), Leo van Doeselaar, Jos van der Kooy, Jaap Lampe, Anton Pauw, Cynthia Wilson and Bernard Winsemius.

Prof. Dr. Christoph Wolff is honorary member of the board.

Stichting Internationaal Orgelconcours is registered at the Amsterdam Chamber of Commerce, no. 41223348.

The festival was founded on the initiative of the Holland Festival, and the first International Improvisation Competition took place in 1951. Shortly afterwards, the International Summer Academy was established. Since 1986, the festival has taken place biennially during the month of July. The 50th festival will be held  in 2014.

The festival is supported financially by the Haarlem City Council and the ‘Nederlands Fonds voor de Podiumkunsten+’.
