In 2010 this successful project featured new compositions by four young composers, written for the Müller organ in the St Bavokerk. The selected pieces were discussed in a 4-day masterclass directed by the Hungarian-German specialist Zsigmond Szathmáry, in the presence of the composers and the young organists who performed the new works in a recital on this famous organ. This concert was repeated in July 2011 in the Europäische Orgelakademie in Leipzig.
A new Call to Young Composers will be issued by 1 October 2011. Composers must be under the age of 30 on 1 July 2012. New works must be received by 1 February 2012. The masterclass, to be extended to six days, will take place from 16-23 July 2012.
