International Summer Academy for Organists 16 - 28 July 2012

 

The International Masterclass for YoungTalents is a high-level course for exceptionally talented young organists intending to pursue professional studies in the future. The masterclasses will take place on the Müller organ in the Bavokerk and the Cavaillé-Coll instrument in the Philharmonie concert hall. Practise organs will be available within the vicinity of Haarlem.

The selected young players will enjoy free admission to all festival events.

 

Application procedure YoungTalents:

 

A maximum of eight YoungTalents will be admitted to the masterclasses. Applicants must be born after 1992 and before 2000. The following information must be received by 1 February 2012:

 

1. A letter from the applicant's organ teacher including:

- name and age of the applicant

- number of years organ tuition

- examples of present repertoire

- examples of applicant's public activities (recitals, competitions and prizes)

- clarification of the significance of the YoungTalents masterclass for the applicant

- declaration that the submitted recording is the applicant's own work

- list of works that will be prepared from the repertoire list 

 

2. A recording on CD of the first or third movement from one of Bach's Trio Sonatas and a Pièce de Fantasie by Louis Vierne

 

3. An email from the parent or guardian, including

- surname, first name and date of birth of applicant (n.b. born after 1992 and before 2000).

- surname and first name of parent or guardian

- post address, telephone number and email address

 

The email from the parent or guardian can be sent to office@organfestival.nl. The letter signed by the teacher must be sent with the recording to:
