Young composers (Further info)
The Haarlem International Organ Festival 2012 warmly invites young composers from all over the world to submit new compositions written specifically for the Müller organ in the Bavokerk. Composers must be under the age of 30 on 1 July 2012. Those selected are obliged to attend the masterclasses on 16-20 and 23 July 2012. The festival organisation will cover the tutorial fee and be responsible for the performance of the selected pieces.
Applicants should take good note of the following:
- the submitted composition must be for solo organ.
- the first performance of the composition must be in the Haarlem Festival 2012. The piece may not have been performed before.
- the composition must not exceed 10 minutes.
- the monumental 18th-century Müller organ has a manual compass C-d"' and a pedal compass C-f', mechanical key and stop action.
- the festival board reserves the right to recall the invitation if entries fall short of expectations.
- the score must be submitted by 1 February 2012 as readable jpg-scan or digital pdf-file to: office@organfestival.nl and on paper to the following address:

Please include with the paper score a copy of your passport and a brief biography. The score should be anonimized. You will be informed about admittance by 15 March 2012
