The Haarlem Summer Academy International Masterclass for YoungTalents was launched in 2010, when Olivier Latry (Paris) and Lorenzo Ghielmi (Milaan) each directed three two-hour sessions. Six YoungTalents worked on music by César Franck and Johann Sebastian Bach, on the Müller organ in the Bavokerk and the Cavaillé-Coll instrument in the Philharmonie concert hall. The young organists were encouraged to attend (free of charge) other Academy masterclasses, recitals and lectures.
The second International Masterclass for YoungTalents will take place from 18 to 25 July 2012. It will be directed by Olivier Latry and Margaret Phillips. The following young players have been admitted to the Young Talents class 2012: Diederik Blankesteijn (NL), Hendrik Burkard (D), Florent Daroux (F), Umberto Kostanic (HR), Donal McCann (IRL), Jacob Reed (USA) and Beatriz Resendes (P).
