About the festival
The festival was founded on the initiative of the City of Haarlem in order to involve the Müller organ in the Holland Festival. The first International Improvisation Competition took place in 1951, the International Summer Academy in 1955. Since 1986, the festival has taken place biennially during the month of July. The 52nd festival will be held in 2018.
The International Organ Festival Haarlem is organised by the foundation 'Stichting Internationaal Orgelconcours'.
