Application for the 52nd International Organ Improvisation Competition is now open. The recording must be in our possession by March 1st 2018; the organisation cannot be held responsible for applications received after that date.
The recordings will be judged by an independent jury. The results of the preliminary round will be announced as soon as possible and not later than April 1st 2018.
The first and second rounds take place respectively on 16 July (St Bavo’s church, organ by Christiaan Müller, 1738) and 18 July (Philharmonie concert hall, organ by Aristide Cavaillé-Coll, 1875). The final round is on 20 July in St Bavo’s church.
The jury will include Franz Danksagmüller (D), Vincent Thévenaz (CH), Bernhard Haas (D), Guus Janssen and Jacob Lekkerkerker (NL).
The winner of the competition will receive a prize of 7,500 euro and will be invited for several recitals in The Netherlands and other European countries. The winner of the audience prize will receive 750 euro.
